Throttle Body

A valve assembly that regulates airflow into the engine.

The throttle body contains a butterfly valve controlled by the accelerator pedal, either mechanically or electronically (drive-by-wire). It governs air intake volume, directly affecting power output. Carbon buildup can cause poor idle, hesitation, or reduced fuel economy. Cleaning with throttle cleaner restores smooth airflow. Electronic throttle bodies require adaptation using diagnostic tools after cleaning. Maintaining a clean and calibrated throttle ensures responsive acceleration and stable engine operation.
